MONTANA – Montanans enjoyed a sunny day today, despite lingering Arctic air causing temperatures to peak in the 20s, however, Dillon and Livingston didn’t break the 20-degree mark. The dry evening brings hazardous wind chills to the southwest.
Looking ahead, our radar remains inactive, promising another sunny day. However, an Air Stagnation Advisory is in effect for areas from Flathead County through Missoula to the Bitterroot Valley due to calm winds. This could lead to compromised air quality as pollutants build up.
In contrast, the eastern plains should expect gusts up to 40 mph overnight Sunday into Monday. Cold Weather Advisories are in place for much of the southwest, including Lewis & Clark County through the Gallatin Valley and into West Yellowstone and Dillon.
