Maybe it’s time for the powers that be to create an ugly trophy for the best collegiate volleyball team in the state of Idaho — kind of like that hideous King Spud prize that’s awarded between Idaho and Idaho State’s basketball teams every season.
If they did, Idaho State would be locking up the trophy for this school year, sweeping Idaho in Moscow Saturday night, 25-13, 25-20, 25-17. Coupled with a victory on Boise State’s home court earlier this year, the Bengals will finish the volleyball regular season 2-0 against the other two Division I programs in the state.
“It’s very cool that the ISU Bengals are now the official Spud Queens of 2024,” said Idaho State head coach Sean Carter. “They are the best team in the state.”…
