Residents of luxury Cambridge building must evacuate for structural repairs

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Residents of a luxury condominium building with views of the Charles River in Cambridge are evacuating the building for at least one year, after structural problems were discovered.

Everyone who lives in the Riverview Condominiums at 221 Mt. Auburn St. will be moving out in a “near-term timeframe” according to city spokesperson Jeremy Warnick.

Concerns discovered during a recent construction project on one of the lower roofs of the building led to the Riverview Board of Trustees hiring engineers to evaluate the structure, Warnick said.
