JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — On Thursday morning in downtown Steubenville, there was a waterline main break along S. 7th street.
“We had a 6-inch line break,” Steubenville Water Superintendent Jim Jenkins said. “It was a smaller line break, but unfortunately when we got it exposed, it blew up. It’s right off our 16-inch line here on 7th Street, so it became larger.
“The 6-inch had a small crack in it. Once we exposed that small crack, that small crack turned into a big hole. So, water started shooting into the air.”…
