A winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 7:13 p.m. valid from Sunday 7 p.m. until Monday 7 p.m. for Washington and Westmoreland counties.
“Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches possible,” can be expected according to the weather service. “The exact northern extent of a likely band of heavy snow remains uncertain, and could impact a region from northern West Virginia as far north as southwestern Pennsylvania and parts of the northern West Virginia panhandle.”
“Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” adds the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.”
