Canal Fulton library schedules programs

CANAL FULTON – The Canal Fulton Public Library, 154 E. Market St., will offer the following programs. To register, call 330-854-4148 or visit www.canalfulton.org/events.

  • Family Snack Showdown, 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday: Children ages 3-12 can try some tasty treats and determine their favorite snack. Warning: Peanuts will be included.
  • Birdseed Ornaments, 6 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday: Children in grades K-5 will create an eco-friendly ornament to take home using a cookie cutter, birdseed and a few other household ingredients.
  • Music Jam Session, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday: Musicians are invited to a jam session at the library. Bring your acoustic instruments for an afternoon of bluegrass music. All skill levels are welcome. This is a drop-in program.
  • The Great Highland Bagpipes, 1 p.m. Saturday: Brian McElhinney shares the history of highland bagpipes, plays familiar bagpipe tunes, and discusses the meaning behind the uniforms worn by the pipers. A dance element will also be featured. Registration is requested. Call the library at 330-854-4148, option 3 to register.

Lisa Bussey to continue on SMHA Board

CANTON – The judges of the Stark County Common Pleas Court have appointed Lisa Bussey to serve on the Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.

All members of the SMHA Board serve without compensation. The authority members act in the best interest of the district and do not act solely as representative of their respective appointing authorities.

Bussey currently serves on the board. Her new term begins Feb. 1 and ends Jan. 31, 2030.
