FORT MYERS, Florida — A 16-year-old was apprehended following a carjacking and subsequent chase that ended at Southwest Florida International Airport, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.The incident began when deputies were alerted to a carjacking in a parking lot on Colonial Blvd. The suspect, identified as a 16-year-old male, of Fort Myers, Florida, allegedly approached a female victim and demanded her vehicle keys. The Violent Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol, located the vehicle on Paul J Doherty Pkwy. As law enforcement attempted a traffic stop, the juvenile and the driver fled, crashing into several unoccupied vehicles.
