Man dead after traffic stop leads to pursuit, shots fired by Indianapolis and Lawrence police

One person is dead and another is cooperating with police after a pursuit Monday led to a shooting involving Lawrence and Indianapolis Metropolitan officers.

Just after 4 p.m., officers with the Lawrence Police Department initiated a traffic stop for a Chevrolet car in the 6900 block of Pendleton Pike. During that stop, a woman exited the car.
