How to help pets cope with Fourth of July fireworks

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Between parties, barbecues, and fireworks the Fourth of July can be tough on your pets.

Dylan Frederickson, owner, founder, and ceo of Boulevard Veterinary in Chicago, said if your pet is afraid of the nonstop noise from fireworks, you should place your pet in an interior room away from the sound.

“Generally, pets, if they’re frightened, they do want to be in their home. So, it’s really just about minimizing that noise penetration as much as possible for them and putting them in a soothing, calming environment,” Frederickson said.
