Landmarks Illinois awards nearly $30,000 in funding for preservation projects throughout state

Landmarks Illinois has awarded $30,000 in grants to eight historical preservation projects in Illinois through its Preservation Heritage Fund and Thomas E. Donnelley II Preservation Fund.

According to a statement from the non-profit, the selected preservation projects are located throughout Illinois in Chicago, Oak Park, El Paso, Jacksonville, Pittsfield, and Richmond. The funds will provide vital monetary support to important historical sites in the state threatened with demolition and deterioration.

Chicago’s historic Jackson Storage and Van Company Warehouse in the South Lawndale neighborhood has been awarded $5,000 grants by Landmarks Illinois.
