In Towson, a local restaurant owner, Masaud Atharis, experienced a violent assault right outside his dining establishment, Kerb. According to a report from Fox Baltimore, Atharis confronted individuals he found urinating by his restaurant, an incident that swiftly escalated into a physical altercation. “While I’m trying to you know, get ahold of them, he finished his business and as I’m turning, he punches me in the face,” Atharis recounted, revealing the dangerous turn of events that led to him being battered.
The situation intensified when one assailant displayed a firearm after Atharis attempted to chase him. According to his own words, detailed by Fox Baltimore, “Once he got the chance to get free to run away, I tried to chase him. That was the time he pulled the gun out and he was like do you want one.” This assault is a recent addition to a troubling surge of violence in the downtown Towson area, with 360 assaults reported in proximity to Atharis’ restaurant.
As CBS News detailed, the assault was captured on video, providing a raw glimpse at the confrontation between Atharis and the group outside Kerb. “Once he punched me, I grabbed him by his hoodie, we rolled on and I fell in between the two cars.
