City activating cold weather shelters starting Tuesday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The city of Austin will open overnight cold weather shelters starting Tuesday night due to temperatures dropping into the 30s, the city said in a news release Monday.

The city will then monitor weather conditions to see if the activation of the cold weather shelters is still needed going into Wednesday, the release said.

Those who are seeking shelter can register Tuesday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at One Texas Center (OTC), located at 505 Barton Springs Road, according to the city…
