CHAMBERSBURG- After smoke was seen throughout Chambersburg on Tuesday afternoon, firefighters from all across the area descended upon a home and its converted garage/barn just outside of the Borough.
According to the Franklin Fire Company, the first due squad for the fire, just after 1pm, Franklin 911 received multiple 911 calls reporting a garage on fire in the 3000blk of Grand Point Rd in Greene Twp. Engine 43 & Chief 46 arrived to find a 50×40 2 story wood frame garage with a converted office space on the 2nd floor.
Engine 43’s crew pulled the 300’ 2in hose and started fire attack on the blaze. It was quickly determined that the fire was already well advanced.
With all occupants accounted for, Command advised to switch to a defensive operation. Engine 15-2 laid out from Scotland Rd & Grand Point Rd. Engine 45 secured their lay out and positioned at a hydrant on Turnberry Drive…
