Seemingly unprovoked attack at Shippensburg bar sends man to the ICU

SHIPPENSBURG- A bar fight that seemingly ended with a single punch has sent one person to the hospital and one person to court. Zachary Powers Kendig has been charged with felony aggravated assault with extreme indifference and remains free awaiting his next court date after being given an unsecured bail of $20,000.

Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were called to Wibs Bar on N Queen Street in Shippensburg around 1:30am on January 18th for a reported fight between two men where the victim was unconscious. Upon arrival, PSP talked to a witness who said that her ex, Zachary Kendig, walked up to an unidentified individual at the bar and struck them one time in the face, knocking him unconscious.

That victim, PSP say, told them that Kendig did not have any contact with the victim at any time of the night and does not know why he would have struck the victim, calling it unprovoked. After speaking with other witnesses, PSP determined the unconscious man’s identity because that man was out cold the entire time they were on scene. Kendig had reportedly fled the scene in a black truck prior to the arrival of police…
