Teen Arrested in Newville for Series of Vehicle Thefts and Related Crimes

In a recent wave of criminal activity in Newville, PA, local authorities have apprehended 19-year-old Dominic H. Muscatell of Elliotsburg on charges related to multiple vehicle break-ins and thefts. Arrested on January 17, 2025, Muscatell faces several charges, including felony counts of theft by unlawful taking and carrying a firearm without a license, as well as misdemeanors for theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

According to the Newville Police Department, the investigation kicked off on December 19, 2024, after reports emerged of vehicles being burglarized, with items such as debit cards, tools, medical equipment, social security cards, and a handgun reported missing. Investigation revealed Muscatell allegedly targeted unlocked vehicles during nighttime operations in Newville, stealing items with an estimated total value of $1,800.

Authorities were able to trace and recover most of the stolen property after locating video evidence of Muscatell pawning the items in Harrisburg. The majority of these items have since been returned to their rightful owners…
