9 Hanukkah festivities that will light up the DMV this week

WASHINGTON — Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, come light the menorah — at these 9 events.

The Festival of Lights begins Wednesday night, and there are lots of events people can head to, have a party, and dance the hora.

Here are 9 things to do this Hanukkah in the DMV area:

  • The Ellipse, Washington, D.C.
  • This annual event features the lighting of the National Menorah, the world’s largest, accompanied by musical performances and special guests. Tickets are available online.

  • Old Town Fairfax Square
  • This community event includes entertainment, hot latkes and donuts, crafts, games and a gelt drop. Admission is free and open to all.
