DURHAM, N.C. — NC State opened its fall slate with a pair of losses to Duke at Durham Bulls Athletic Park Friday night.
The Pack played 13 total innings against the Blue Devils, distributing that time between a seven-inning 5-2 loss and a six-inning 6-2 loss, respectively. The red and white showcased the upside of its new players and overall talent level across both games but failure to throw strikes and an overall lack of execution resulted in the Wolfpack leaving the DBAP empty-handed.
“It’s fun to get out here,” said Elliott Avent. “Pretty much everybody got a chance to play. As far as how we played? We’ve got a ways to go.”…
