CARY, N.C. – The Benedict College men’s cross country team finished seventh out of 13 teams at the Cedric Walker HBCU Cross Country Challenge as part of the Great American Cross Country Festival at WakeMed Soccer Park on Friday.
Benedict finished with a score of 197. North Carolina Central was the top finisher with 33 points, followed by Fayetteville State (58), North Carolina A&T (92), Virginia State (100), Virginia Union (139), Livingstone (147) and Benedict. Rounding out the field was Shaw (222), West Virginia State (266), Elizabeth City State (280), Winston-Salem State (301), Allen (312), and Lincoln (Pa.) (318).
Nelson Kipkemboi was Benedict’s top finisher, coming in 23rd overall with a time of 28:55.3 over the 8K course. Braylen Brooks finished 34th with a time of 29:32.9. Sadiki Marsh was 37th with a time of 29:48.0. Kelvin Kiprop finished 40th with a time of 30:32.8. Quincy Harris finished 69th with a time of 36:30.7. William Fennoy finished 73rd with a time of 37.39.6…
