MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating a death that occurred at the Hill Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner over the weekend.
Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hartwell said that on Saturday around 11:36 p.m. his office was notified of a death at the jail following a female inmate experiencing a medical emergency.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and medical staff responded to a pod where the inmate was unresponsive. They attempted to perform live-saving measures while waiting for Berkeley County EMS. However, she was pronounced deceased at the scene…
