Southeast braces for winter weather as system brings wintry mix and rain

LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) — Winter weather is expected to track through the Southeast Friday and exit off the coast early Saturday according to forecasts of the next few days.

The Lowcountry could see a quick wintry mix early, as the precipitation first starts and temperatures remain low. This weather system is also expected to bring frozen precipitation to some, especially the Midlands and Upstate.

It is possible the Lowcountry could get small amounts sleet or a few flurries, but no accumulation is expected and any precipitation will be very light. The precipitation will transition to all rain as temperatures warm slightly through the 30s which should occur no later than early afternoon…
