CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A winter storm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for much of the Lowcountry heading into this week.
The watch is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning, meaning heavy snow is possible with accumulation totaling one to three inches.
Arctic high pressure will move into the region Monday, bringing bitter cold weather to South Carolina. A low-pressure system is forecast to pass to the south and offshore by mid-week, which will bring winter precipitation to the area likely in the form of sleet and snow.
