State Department of Energy looking for feedback on rebate programs

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Office of Energy is slated to host its second public input session in Home Energy Rebate Programs development. The meeting on Wednesday will bring together stakeholders in the programs created by the Inflation Reduction Act.

Clay Stevens, program manager, says they’re trying to get input from stakeholders and the public to determine how best to craft and roll out the program.

We’re trying to garner feedback from the public on how best to design the rebate program and plug that into the design of the program,” Stevens told MetroNews.

The program is essentially two rebate programs in one. The Home Energy Rebate is designed for improvement in home climate control systems like windows, doors, sealed ducts and the heating or cooling systems themselves. The rebates can be used to upgrade and improve those kinds of things. The second is to give assistance and rebates for the purchases of program approved appliances for their energy efficiency. …
