WEST VIRGINIA (WCHS) — State wildlife officials are encouraging hunters to be aware of deer diseases as hunting season ramps up in West Virginia.

The animal is transmissible from animal to animal, primarily affecting deer. It lasts around 18 to 24 months before fatality.
