How much snow is Louisville expected to get? First storm to bring multiple inches

While predictions are likely to change, forecasters from the National Weather Service in Louisville are expecting multiple inches of snow to impact the Louisville metro area as a strong winter storm system moves through the region Sunday into Monday.

In its Friday morning update, meteorologists said a winter storm watch has been issued for sout hern Indiana and parts of Kentucky that will take effect beginning at 4 a.m. Eastern time Sunday. A mix of significant wintry precipitation, including snow, sleet, and freezing rain, are expected to begin Sunday morning and continue throughout the day, with snow and more expected to impact areas north of Interstate 64 and into southern Indiana. Ice is also possible along and north of the Western Kentucky and Bluegrass Parkways.
