The Louisville Metro Snow Team has spread more than 30 million pounds of salt on roads since Winter Storm Blair hit the city Sunday, and the team is gearing up toss more as heavy snow is expected to impact Louisville yet again Friday.
During a news conference Thursday , Mayor Craig Greenberg said many crew members are shuttling road salt from underground storage space near the Louisville Zoo to replenish the city’s four salt domes in preparation for inbound snow that will move into the region Friday morning.
“If you see some trucks that are driving around the county today, and they don’t have the plows down, they don’t look like they’re working, they’re probably one of those trucks that’s hauling salt,” Greenberg said…
