4 Charlotte-area Family Dollar stores fined for overcharging customers, state says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A handful of Charlotte-area Family Dollar stores were fined after recent inspections found they were overcharging customers due to price-scanner errors, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said.

Two of the stores fined were in Charlotte, while another was in Indian Trail, and the fourth in Gastonia.

One of the ones in Charlotte is on Sunset Road. Officials said that particular store failed inspections in July and September, but passed in December. Because of the failed inspections, the store paid just over $8,000 in fines…
