East Independence in E. Charlotte closed after multi-injury crash: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Outbound lanes of East Independence Blvd. in east Charlotte have reopened after a crash that injured two people Sunday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Around 5:20 a.m., officers responded to the crash at E. Independence near Coliseum Drive. Medic reported two people were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to NCDOT’s traffic map, the road was closed near Fugate Ave which is near Bojangles Coliseum.
