Virginia Cavaliers swimmer Gretchen Walsh continues to take the aquatics world by storm. After winning two gold medals and two silvers in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Walsh pieced together one of the best meets in swimming history this week.
Walsh won seven world titles at the Short Course (25 meter pool) World Championships while breaking 11 (!) short course world records in the process. She won gold in the 50 meter freestyle, the 100 meter freestyle, the 50 meter butterfly, the 100 meter butterfly, the 100 meter individual medley, the 4×100 freestyle relay, and the 4×100 medley relay.
