‘Help us, help you:’ Richmond DPU urges residents test water pipes for lead

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT)—Tens of thousands of city-owned and residential water pipe connections in Richmond may contain lead.

To help get answers faster, the city wants residents to test their pipes and report back.

“We’re asking the public to work with us on completing an interactive map. By completing a very brief survey online, you’ll be able to identify what your service material is,” Senior Director for the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities April Bingham said…
