The last time the University of Richmond played a home Atlantic 10 Conference game, the Spiders cut nets. They secured the league’s 2024 regular-season championship with a seven-point win over Saint Joseph’s on March 6.
UR began its subsequent A-10 season Tuesday at the Robins Center against George Washington and again celebrated a memorable win. The Spiders prevailed 66-61 after trailing by 13 with nine minutes left.
“Just fed up with losing, man,” said UR senior guard DeLonnie Hunt (19 points, five steals). “We’ve lost way too many times and as a team we feel that we beat ourselves a lot … You can put your head down and you can quit, or you can keep fighting, and that’s what we did.”
