Monday: Petersburg Community Turkey Day Giveaway
Drive by the Petersburg Public Library on Monday, November 25 from noon to 2 p.m. to receive a free Thanksgiving turkey, courtesy of the City of Petersburg Dept. of Social Services, Live! Casino and BSE. One turkey will be given away per household on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. There will be over 500 free holiday turkeys distributed. Residents may enter the parking lot where they will be directed to the turkey pick-up location.
Monday: Deck the halls at the Colonial Heights Library
The Christmas tree at the Colonial Heights Library is very bare and in need of decorations, according to the library. Visit the library this Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. to help decorate it. There will be several ornament stations available at the library to help locals decorate the library’s tree. Plus, attendees can also take the ornaments home for their own tree.
Wednesday: Free children’s arts and crafts program at the Petersburg Library
There will be a free children’s arts and crafts program at the Petersburg Public Library on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon. The program is catered toward children up to 10 years old, and will involve “learning through exploration, problem solving, and creativity,” according to the library’s website. Questions? Next Tuesday: Petersburg High School Specialty Night
Join Petersburg City Public Schools on Tuesday, December 3 to meet representatives from Richard Bland College and Brightpoint Community College and discover how students can earn college credits while still in high school.
The event will take place in the auditorium of Petersburg High School at 6 p.m. and is open to 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders and their guardians. Attend to hear about upcoming dual enrollment opportunities at Richard Bland and Brighton and how these can help students get ahead while saving parents money on future college expenses.

Join the City of Colonial Heights for their 71st annual Christmas parade next Tuesday, Dec. 3. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on the Boulevard from Temple Ave to the local courthouse.
