Women Build program celebrates one decade of service in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – From the foundation to the finishing touches, Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity is preparing to welcome a family into a new home along Scottdale Street in November.

This is all thanks to help from over 400 people, including volunteers from the Women Build program.

“It just felt open, fresh and exciting,” said Crystal Simmons, a member of the Women Build Council. “I could just see them being appreciative, cooking, laughing, loving each other in the house.”

One decade ago, Simmons followed her desire to serve in the community by joining the Women Build program…
