CHEYENNE – The Kiwanis Club of Cheyenne is known for its mission of helping children, but the club is starting a new initiative to recognize the military service of its members.
“The purpose of our new veterans committee is to recognize the service of those who served in the military,” retired U.S. Army Col. Tim Sheppard, who is leading the new committee, said. “We’re just starting, so the first thing we’re going to do is honor our veterans over Veterans Day. And then we’ll look at some other events throughout the year where we can bring our veterans together.”
