PEGGE M. BYRNE Pegge M. Byrne, beloved artist and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Chico, CA, at the age of 98. Born in 1926, in San Francisco, CA, Pegge grew up in the Mission District and later moved to Montara, CA, and then enjoyed her retirement in Magalia, CA. Pegge’s artistic journey began at a young age under the guidance of Ruth Cravath, at the San Francisco Arts Institute. She pursued a career in the printing trade, where her creativity and dedication were evident in every project. Pegge was known for her passion for ceramics, sewing, quilting, and cooking. She found joy in traveling and hosting lively dinner parties that brought friends and family together. Pegge is survived by her son, Ron Slater, along with four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
