First homeless shelter in Massachusetts that allows pets opens in Northampton

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A new shelter is opening in Northampton to better serve the homeless population.

The facility on Industrial Drive will be a new place to stay for many in need. It features the state’s first “pet accommodations” for people who own pets that also need a place to stay.

Clinical & Support Options’ Friends of the Homeless will lead a tour of the new building on Thursday with a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.
