Chillicothe Mayor’s Briefing to Council: Anti-Camping, Speed Humps, Jayvon Maughmer

Chillicothe — Council conducted normal business aside from the homeless issue – including hearing the mayor’s briefing on city administration, and (see its own story) considering a new home for city offices.

Mayor Luke Feeney said the police chief had concerns about the draft “Anti-Camping” ordinance that was receiving so much opposition from homeless supporters. Feeney said the chief had questions on the implementation and phrasing of the draft, and that the chief’s “engagement and evaluation review” will be forward to council members.

He said “speed humps” had been appropriated last fall for South Watt Street, and for Pawnee Road and Loganview Drive behind Zane Plaza. Feeny said they were “dramatically backordered” but have finally been delivered…
