Friday is ‘Rocks Your Socks Day!’

The Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities (PDD) invites the community to ‘rock your socks” in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day on Friday, March 21st. Everyone is invited to wear their most colorful, creative, even mismatched socks – they’re waiting for you at the bottom of your sock drawer.

March 21st is symbolic because people with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because the karyotype of DS chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!
