CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The trial for a man accused of involvement in a July 2022 shooting in Chillicothe is scheduled to begin this week. According to the Chillicothe Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on July 15, 2022, around 11:59 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two 9mm shell casings at the scene and initiated an investigation.
During the course of their investigation, authorities found that the shooting was related to an earlier assault. A description of a vehicle connected to the incident was provided to officers, who later conducted a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle. Inside, they recovered a loaded AK-47 rifle. Further inquiries led to a search warrant executed at the suspect’s residence, where a 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered.
As a result, several individuals were charged. Camron Renner, who was 18 years old at the time and a resident of Chillicothe, was charged with improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation and assault.
