Ohio Secretary of State sued over controversial changes to absentee ballot drop-off rules

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Ohio Democratic Party and two voters have filed a lawsuit against Secretary of State Frank LaRose, accusing him of violating state and federal law with a new directive that limits the use of 24/7 drop boxes for absentee ballots.

The directive requires anyone dropping off an absentee ballot for another person to do so during Board of Elections hours and to sign a form confirming they’re authorized to submit the ballot.
