ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities are investigating an assault at Paint Valley School that left a 15-year-old male student with a concussion and other minor injuries, deputies said.
The incident occurred this week, in a breezeway area between buildings at the school as students were heading to lunch, according to a narrative report by Lieutenant Angela Hollis of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. Units were dispatched to Greenfield Medical Center’s Emergency Department to speak with the injured juvenile, who had been transported from the school.
Hollis arrived at the hospital and interviewed the victim, whose name is being withheld due to his age, in the presence of his mother’s boyfriend while awaiting the arrival of the boy’s mother. The juvenile reported that another student, also unnamed, insulted his mother, prompting him to retaliate with an insult about the other student’s girlfriend. The suspect then allegedly punched the victim approximately 15 times in the head, causing him to strike his head against a wall…
