A pair of local former high school wrestling state champions are ranked among the top of the weight classes in Division I collegiate wrestling.
In the Division I InterMat rankings released on Jan. 14, La Salle graduate Lucas Byrd and Walton-Verona grad Spencer Moore made appearances. Byrd is ranked as the No. 2 wrestler in the country at 133 pounds for Illinois while Moore is No. 15 at 125 pounds for North Carolina.
