FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Bodycam footage was released Wednesday of the standoff at a Farmington Hills home where a man allegedly shot at police and hit multiple homes in the neighborhood.

The situation unfolded when Farmington Hills police responded to a domestic violence assault at a home in the area of Middlebelt and 12 Mile roads on Sept. 15.

It’s alleged the suspect, 32-year-old Dejuan Patrick Evans, assaulted a woman and threatened her life in front of her children. The victim’s child called 911.

What the footage shows

Police footage shows the woman leaving the house as officers arrived. She then told police her children were still upstairs, and the man had a gun before officers entered the home. When police asked the woman to tell the man to come downstairs, the footage shows the front door being shut in front of the officers. She reportedly told police she was assaulted by the suspect.

As the officers went up the stairs, they faced the suspect, who could be seen holding a gun. In the footage, police asked the suspect to put his hands up, but then multiple gunshots can be heard from the suspect and the officers returning fire…
