A Leesburg man was arrested on drug and ammunition charges when a deputy found used needles, narcotics and a bullet in his vehicle.
A deputy observed the driver of a white 2010 Kia Soul, later identified as 26-year-old Steven Lee Green, traveling southbound on Sunland Avenue around 3:37 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle did not yield to a stop sign in the deputy’s direct line of sight.
The deputy immediately made a U-turn as the vehicle passed, and he conducted a traffic stop. Upon the deputy stepping out of his patrol vehicle, Green was in the process of getting out of his own vehicle. He was asked for his driver’s license, the report said.
Green advised that he did not have a driver’s license and handed the deputy an ID card instead. The deputy asked him to step behind his vehicle due to him already standing next to the driver’s seat.
