Pet Alliance ‘paws’ for progress on new shelter

The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando broke ground in November at 4311 S. John Young Parkway, its new shelter location, reflecting its commitment to providing the highest quality care for displaced animals in Central Florida.

The animal welfare agency, known for its adoption and veterinary services, started construction of the new 25,000-square-foot facility, slated to open in early 2026. It will further Pet Alliance’s mission and expand its services, Executive Director Steve Bardy said in an interview.

“The new facility will increase our ability to take in more animals,” Bardy said. “It is going to have very high-end shelter medical care, which are the medical services we provide to each and every dog and cat that come into our facility.”…
