CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Thursday evening, a standing-room-only crowd struggled to see the sun-washed slide presentation at the third and last public input session regarding the charter-required reduction of wards (and council members!) in Cleveland.

While the Guardians won Game 3, it felt like the residents and community leaders in the room may have won some well-deserved attention.

I honestly don’t know where to start this story. Maybe, I should mention how city leadership sat on the census data needed to conduct this process since about September 2022 but decided to wait until less than three weeks before the most contentious and confusing general election in memory to bring it to the people…
