Student brought edibles to St. Jerome Catholic School and shared them with students, Cleveland diocese says, while another brought a taser

CLEVELAND — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland says it will be taking additional security actions at St. Jerome School in Collinwood after two students were respectively accused of bringing edibles and a taser inside the building in separate incidents.

According to the diocese, the violations occurred on back-to-back days, with the first student bringing the laced edibles to the school on Wednesday before sharing them with classmates. On Thursday, a second student was caught trying to bring a taser inside.

“St. Jerome takes these incidents are very seriously, and the two students involved will no longer be attending St. Jerome School,” the diocese wrote in a statement, adding that police were called to investigate both incidents and that parents were also notified…
