The latest weather forecast in Baltimore/Washington predicts that the low-pressure system currently lingering off the Mid-Atlantic coast will give way to high pressure from the north through Saturday. For Baltimore and its vicinities, this means that while the threat of isolated light showers and patches of drizzle could stick around through the morning, clearer skies and mild temperatures in the mid-70s to lower 80s are expected by the afternoon. The National Weather Service also advises that we might see scattered showers and thunderstorms later in the afternoon, particularly in the southwest.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Friday is shaping up to be a rain-free day, with highs forecast to hit the lower to mid-80s. While a weak disturbance could stir up a few showers or a thunderstorm in the southwestern corner of the area, the forecast appears to be dry for most areas. That being said, a backdoor cold front might encroach by Sunday, potentially shifting the previously steady conditions and introducing the chance for a few more showers and thunderstorms, mainly along the Appalachians.

The more significant change will happen starting Sunday as cooler, drier air moves in, dropping high temperatures to the middle 70s.
