Just Press Play to host weekend sales event at planned central Pa. video game ‘mega store’

Video game enthusiasts can get an early look this weekend at a planned $3.5 million video game superstore and event space that Super Mario will be helping to build in East Lampeter Township.

Video game and collectibles retailer Just Press Play is hosting a weekend sales event at the 2007 Lincoln Highway East building where its “mega store” is slated to open in May. The “Raid the JPP Warehouse” sale will help raise money for the new store, which got a boost when owner Zac Gieg netted more than $200,000 from selling a rare 1985 “Super Mario Bros.” game cartridge from his personal collection.

The sales event, which begins Friday morning and runs through Sunday, will offer customers a chance to buy overstock items, blemished inventory and “museum” items from Just Press Play stores that had previously been for display only. There will also be CDs, DVDs and action figures as well as a variety of other antiques and collectibles…
