Local group ‘pampered’ parents before Christmas

The Pettaway Pursuit Foundation (PPF) held a special “Pampering Parents” giveaway on Dec. 14 that was stacked with Christmas toys ahead of the holiday. Dozens of families attended, picking up free necessities including clothing, books, and more.

Rushing between stations inside the Today’s Child gym, in Clifton Heights, foundation founder Theresa Pettaway, said, “We’ve had a oncea month ‘Pampering Parents’ giveaway for years. Typically, we serve about 60 families, but for an event like this one, we have more.”

For the event, Pettaway secured the participation of, among others, the county Health Department, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Today’s Child early childhood learning center, and local representatives’ offices, who distributed formula coupons, warm clothing, books and, of course, toys…
