MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County filed an appeal Friday afternoon in the ouster case against embattled City Clerk Wanda Halbert.
A Shelby County attorney filed an appeal after a court judge denied the county’s request for a default judgment earlier this week. That would have meant a judgment in favor of the county, and typically is granted after a defendant fails to appear to court.
A judge in November dismissed a second attempt to oust the Shelby County Clerk.
